Thank You for Supporting Summer Harvest – Here’s How You Made an Impact!
We want to extend our deepest gratitude for your support of Summer Harvest! We wanted to provide an update about how our volunteers, donors, and sponsors have made a difference by providing fresh foods to families in our community this summer.
Your contributions have already made a lasting impact this year. This summer, we served over 1,200 families, including 2,300 children and 3,000 adults in the Cypress, Los Alamitos, Huntington Beach, and Fountain Valley communities. With your help, we distributed 700 backpacks filled with school supplies to help students start the school year prepared, while also helping families stretch their grocery budgets.
This summer, we hosted six distributions of fresh produce and pantry items, ensuring nutritious meals reached those who needed them most. We’re grateful to our partners, including Bracken's Kitchen, Second Harvest Food Bank, PREP Kitchen, Boy Scouts of Orange County, National League of Young Men, Salesforce, the Kiwanis, and Girl Scouts of Orange County.
We’re excited to share a few special highlights: Thanks to the funds raised at the poker tournament, we expanded our service to the Huntington Beach City School District, providing even more families with essential resources. Additionally, PREP Kitchen continued to provide custom recipes based on the items in each distribution, helping families make the most of what they received. This is a hallmark feature of our organization -- not only do we provide healthy fruits, vegetables, eggs, and other kitchen staples -- we also include delicious, easy-to-follow recipes so families can make the most of the items they receive.
